Hush, Little Patient

Hush,
little patient.
Don’t shed a tear.

These beams are going to buy you
a few more years.

And if those few more years don’t come
We’ll curse the night that made you numb

And when that numbness grieves our minds
We’ll chase the memories ’til time rewinds

And when we realize time won’t return
We’ll watch life’s flicker slowly burn
For our next embrace is my only concern.
